So I've set up a Google reader account and started adding some of your blogs. It's sort of a pain staking process adding one blog at a time, but that's just my super impatience talking. Perhaps I can count on this program to teach me technology AND patience. Wouldn't that be a treat? ;)

I always appreciated that Yahoo let you personalize your home page to showcase things that interested you. Still though, you were limited to what Yahoo had to offer. This way I can collect feeds from all over the internet and have them in one place! This is particularly convenient if you have widely ranging interests (like cozy kitties and I don’t know … military weapons or something).

I was surprised at how many people walk into the library and ask what the weather is going to be like, want to shoot the breeze about current events or are looking for the latest Oprah book club book. If you could compile all of that ever changing information on one page, it would make answering those questions a whole lot quicker!
In order to appease Sarah's expectations of me . . . a whole collage of cozy kitties!!

The Cashiers Library staff as M&M's!!
I still feel like I just graduated from college yesterday, but already I miss having nothing to do but soak up information. I suppose I am a “life long learner” by nature and that’s what drew me to work in a library.

Inevitably, I overestimate my “goals” when I’m starting a new project. My sophomore year in college, I convinced myself that I could learn to read and write Italian (all by myself) so that I could read Dante in his original language. I never got past “Ciao!”

Given my . . . we’ll call it optimism . . . I do a great job at collecting a tool box (or dump truck) worth of items to help me along my way. Learning to knit? I should probably clean out the craft shelves at Walmart and bring EVERYTHING home. Just in case I’m suddenly inspired to make an afghan, a sweater, a baby blanket and a new scarf all in one evening. (By the way, I learned to knit once but never learned how to finish anything. I have a lot of lopsided pot holders unraveling in the bottom of my closet.)

So far, so good. I started out with 23 things to accomplish and I’ve done three! Hopefully, I’ll see this through. And seeing as how it’s a slightly more reasonable goal than reading The Divine Comedy in Italian, it shouldn’t be too hard. Ciao!
